11th International Conference on Materials Chemistry (MC11)

8–11 July 2013
Coventry, United Kingdom

Introduction

The 'MC' conference series has provided a showcase for materials chemistry for two decades, and is the flagship event of the RSC's Materials Chemistry Division. In its 20th year, this cutting edge international research conference is organised around four exciting and diverse areas of the application of materials chemistry.

Recent editions of the MC series have been very successful: MC8, held in London in 2007, attracted 500 delegates; in 2009, the RSC was proud to incorporate MC9 into the scientific programme of the 42nd IUPAC World Congress (IUPAC 2009) which reached an audience of over 2000 delegates; and MC10 saw over 500 scientists present their work and network in Manchester in July 2011.

Who should attend?

MC11 will appeal to academic and industrial scientists working on the chemistry, physics and materials science of functional materials.
Student participation is strongly encouraged; as well as the opportunity to give oral presentations we place a particular emphasis on poster
presentations. Bursaries will also be made available to support the attendance of students and recent graduates.

Format

MC11 will run over four days, beginning at lunchtime on Monday 8 July and ending at lunchtime on Thursday 11 July.

The main themes will be distributed across four parallel sessions. There will be plenary lectures at the beginning and end of the conference, and at the beginning and end of each of the two middle days as well as an evening plenarly lecture on Monday 8 July. Each symposium will have a keynote speaker followed by contributed speakers.

Poster presentations are an important part of the MC series; two dedicated poster sessions will be held during the conference.
