'The European Conference on Laser Interaction with Matter (ECLIM - 2014)' is held to stimulate fundamental and applied research on high-energy and/or high-intensity laser-matter interaction. It allows researchers, students and engineers gathering, on a rather informal basis, for fruitful discussions, and presentation of new results within the conference topics.
This 'ECLIM - 2014' issue will be held in Paris at a time when the dynamism of laser developments is stronger than ever, boosted by the active collaboration of academic researchers and innovation partners. The advent of several PW facilities in construction world-wide holds the promise of an enlargement of the laser-plasma community and will bring new tools for the exploration of matter.
- Physics of laser-produced plasmas: laser-matter interaction (from nanosecond to femtosecond), atomic physics, hydrodynamics, etc.
- Inertial confinement fusion for energy (from target design to proof-of-principle experiments).
- Particle and radiation secondary sources, including x-ray lasers and novel ultra-short EUV sources.
- High-power and/or high-energy laser facilities and related technologies (including targets, diagnostics, ...).
