The 23rd International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering (ISCRE 23) will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. The symposium has a history dating back to 1957, held biennially since 1970. In 2002, the first Asia Pacific meeting took place in Hong Kong; the 20th meeting took place in Japan in 2008, in this, the 23rd meeting ISCRE pays its first visit to South East Asia, its first visit to ASEAN.
This year we will be joined by the Asia Pacific Chemical Reaction Engineering Symposium (APCRE) for its 7th symposium. APCRE was established in 1995, the first symposium held in Beijing, China in June of 1996 and held triennially since. The scientific theme of APCRE encompasses a wide spectrum of topics, including the conventional and emerging fields of chemical reaction engineering as well as those that straddle other disciplines. By joining with the ISCRE the symposium will bring together researchers from both inside and outside of the Asia-Pacific region, to further research ideals and foster new ideas and relationships.
