Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society 2014 Annual Meeting

13–17 September 2014
Lake Buena Vista, United States

Why Attend the EMGS Meeting?

The Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society is the primary professional society for scientists involved in research into environmental causes and consequences of damage to the genome and epigenome. Our mission is to transmit emerging knowledge and support national and international efforts to ensure a healthy, sustainable environment for future generations. The Society’s Annual Meeting is unique in bringing together scientists who carry out basic research with those involved in risk estimation and regulatory concerns related to the consequences of exposure to environmental, industrial, and pharmaceutical agents. The result is a dynamic meeting that covers a broad range of contemporary topics, yet remains focused and collegial, facilitating interactions between students and renowned scientists in academia, government, and industry.

The theme of the EMGS 45th Annual Meeting is “Integrating Environmental, Genomic, and Health Research.” The goals of this meeting are to:

  • build on our past contributions to the field of environmental and molecular mutagenesis and DNA repair and more fully understand the role of epigenetics in these basic mechanisms
  • integrate applied genetic toxicology with basic research in DNA damage and repair, toxicogenomics, and epigenetics
  • determine how emerging technologies can lead to a better understanding of environmentally-induced genetic disease
  • have these data serve as a foundation for human risk assessment for disease and disease prevention
  • aid in the support of knowledge-based regulation to protect the public health and the environment

EMGS invites you to join us in Orlando for this exciting and rewarding scientific meeting.
