The Environmental Engineering Session of the 55th International Scientific Conference of the Riga Technical University will be held on 14 - 16 October 2014. The Conference has been envisaged as a regular scientific forum and its main aim is to acquaint researchers with achievements in the area of energy systems and environmental engineering and to give the scientists, especially PhD students, an opportunity to publish the results of their research.
 
TOPIC OF INTEREST FOR THE YEAR 2014:
 
BIOECONOMY AS A LINK TO SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT TECHNOLOGIES
 
A transition is needed towards an optimal use of renewable biological resources. The world must move towards sustainable primary production and processing systems that can produce more food, fiber and other bio-based products with fewer inputs, less environmental impact and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The conference will cover fallowing subsections: 
 
▪ Novel sources of biomass and bio-products 
▪ Marine and fresh-water biotechnology 
▪ Industrial biotechnology 
▪ Bio-refinery 
▪ Environmental biotechnology 
▪ Emerging trends in biotechnology

FEE
The early registration fee is 250 EUR (VAT). The registration fee covers a copy of the conference proceedings, admittance to all sessions, refreshment breaks, lunches and the conference social event.

REGISTRATION
Deadline for the preliminary registration and abstract submission is March 31 by sending the e-mail to ect@rtu.lv.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION
All submitted papers should be written in English. All the submissions will be peer-reviewed by the panel of experts associated with journals. Best articles will be published in the international scientific journal "Environmental and Climate Technologies" (indexed by SCOPUS).
