From October 3 to 7, 2016 , Colombia is hosting the XV LARIM 2016 (Latin American Regional IAU Meeting). This is the most important meeting among the community of astronomy and astrophysics in Latin America and represents an important milestone for Colombia into the IAU (International Astronomical Union).
The meeting's agenda responds to one of the main needs for astronomers and astrophysicists in our country: the internationalization of scientific production in these areas, as well as the formation of human talent, both carried out by the country over the last years.
The event includes several educational and scientific public and private sectors which have committed to providing financial and logistical support for the successful completion of it. Additionally, this is an important opportunity to consolidate a joint research agenda, sponsored by the strong support of the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
